Liz Rothenberg, PhD
President
Dr. Liz Rothenberg is a highly accomplished higher education researcher and strategist with over 17 years of experience developing best practice research studies, benchmarking reports, and presentations for colleges and universities. She has a proven track record of leading large-scale research projects and delivering data-driven insights that help higher education institutions improve fundraising performance, reimagine the donor experience, prepare for changing donor demographics, and increase organizational efficiency.
As the Managing Director of Strategic Research at EAB, Dr. Rothenberg led the firm's student lifecycle research portfolio, which encompassed critical areas such as advancement, enrollment, and student affairs. Under her leadership, EAB developed the Advancement Investment and Performance Initiative (AIPI), a proprietary benchmarking tool available to chief advancement officers in the US, Canada, and the UK. This tool is used annually by over 200 colleges and universities to demonstrate fundraising ROI, enhance organizational performance, and make the case for additional university investment.
A prolific thought leader, Dr. Rothenberg is regularly sought after for her insights on advancement especially regarding Millennial and Gen Z givers, campaigns, organizational efficiency, and donor engagement. She has authored numerous whitepapers and presented regularly at client roundtables and university events around the world. She has also spoken at key higher education conferences including AGB, NASPA, CACUSS, and CASE.
Dr. Rothenberg has a bachelor’s degree from Hamilton College and a Master of Studies in modern history from Oxford University. She has a PhD in British History from Duke University, where she also earned a certificate in Medieval and Renaissance studies. Her PhD research focused on changing understandings of honor and reputation among merchants during England’s commercial revolution from 1688-1722.

Stewie is a two-year old West Highland terrier who enjoys playing with tennis balls, saying hello on zoom calls, chasing the neighborhood squirrels, and making sure his human is focused on work-life balance by taking him out for many walks.
He is a frequent traveler who is currently working on a project to benchmark pet relief areas on the East Coast and has strong thoughts on how to improve the ones at DCA. He was recently awarded his Delta wings for being a “good boy” in flight.
